Surfing Ala Moana Bowls

One of the best places to surf in Hawaii, Ala Moana Bowls is a popular spot in Oahu. It’s an exposed reef break with consistent surf. Ala Moana is long wave with a few different tube sections and a range of takeoff spots. It’s most ideal when a south swell detonates on the initial bowl section. The water next to reef has been dredged for the harbor so the swells are unique. The best season to surf Ala Moana Bowls is summertime.
This is an often crowded area where many surfers wait on the outside to catch the large, main break. If you are a less experienced surfer, you can wait on the inside break instead. Be prepared for the crowds, with a six person per wave average, you need some patience.
To get there, you can paddle out straight from the parking lot, like most do, or walk down the boat docks to the channel then go out from there.
The bottom at Ala Moana Bowls is a mixture of sea urchins and reef. The area is best for surfers at the intermediate level or above.
The beach near Ala Moana Bowls is a terrific surf hangout with plenty of people and BBQ. If you want to stay in the area, the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa is a fantastic choice. This oceanfront property is huge. It spans 22 acres and features dozens of restaurants and shops. Every Friday night, they have fireworks displays and lots of partying. From this resort, you will be walking distance to Ala Moana Bowls.
For cocktails, head to the Mai Tai Bar - an open air bar with a laid-back vibe. Sip on mai tais (of course), martinis, wine, beer or fruity tropical cocktails. This bar is considered the best in Oahu and features live Hawaiian music. голова болит секс
